Inukshuk in the Appalachian Mountains

Inukshuk in the Appalachian Mountains
The Appalachian Mountains are a huge system of North American mountains, partly in Canada. An inukshuk is a stone landmark used as a milestone or directional marker. The Frozen Circle, dominated by permafrost, has few natural landmarks and thus the inukshuk was central to navigation across the barren tundra. The inukshuk is now a common symbol associated with the Inuit people, and they can be seen throughout the Appalachian Mountain range in Canada.
