While Niagara Falls is generally known for being a spectactular natural wonder of the world, what is often over-looked is the amount of hydroelectric power it produces. The falls produce over 4.5 million kilowatts of electricity - enough electricity to power approximately 45 million 100-watt light bulbs. The power produced at the falls covers more than one quatre of all the power used in New York state and Ontario.
