Mouth of the Baldhead River

Lake Superior is the largest freshwater lake in the world (by area). It has a top length of 563 kilometres (350 miles) and maximum breadth of 257 kilometres (160 miles). Its average depth is 147 metres (483 feet) with a maximum depth of 406 metres (1,332 feet). Lake Superior drains into Lake Huron through the St. Marys River and receives the waters of many short, speedy flowing streams including the Nipigon, Kaministikwia, St. Louis, and Pigeon rivers. It is a place of magnificent scenery, clear waters, and rocks.
