The Bronte Provincial Park was established in 1972, but was not open to the public until 1975. The park is approximately 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) of unique nature trails, a history museum by the of Spruce Lance Farmhouse, 11 picnic shelters, a nature centre which has a children’s playbarn, an Olympic size skating rink, two farms that are in production, and 144 campsites with electricity. The entire area of Bronte Creek Provincial Park is 684 hectares (1690 acres). The center of the park is divided by a creek in which the park received its name which is of course Bronte Creek, but the creek is also known as 12-Mile Creek.
