Banks of the Napanee River

Located between Toronto and Montréal, and a mid-point between Toronto and Ottawa, is the town of Greater Napanee. Approximately 40 kilometres (25 miles) west of Kingston, Napanee was originally established by the opening of a grist mill (a building where grain is ground into flour) in 1785. The Napanee River runs directly through the town and is the location where the river empties water carried from the Depot Lakes into Lake Ontario. Napanee is best know for the area bodies of water are well known for their excellent fishing as well as for the beautiful scenery along the banks of the Napanee River. Pictured above is the W.K. Hineman Pavilion that sits near the shore of the river.
