Storm on the Beach

Wasaga is the 14 kilometre (8.7 miles) safe and sandy beach on Georgian Bay that attracts thousands of visitors every summer. A beach is a geological formation consisting of particles such as sand, stones, cobble, or even shell along the shoreline of a body of water. The sand deposit may extend well inland from the top, where there may be evidence of previous storms left by very large storm waves. At some point the influence of the storm waves on the material comprising the beach stops, and if the particles are small enough winds shape the shore. This is how storms form in and around Wasaga Beach.
