The bald eagle is a powerful bird and breeds from northwestern Alaska, Mackenzie Delta, Ungava Peninsula and Newfoundland, south to the Gulf Coast. While the species is dwindling in numbers, the bald eagle thrives throughout northern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Island.
