The Lobster Pound in Halls Harbour, Nova Scotia, located 16 kilometres (10 miles) north of Kentville on Route 359, is the big grey structure with red trim and a patio overlooking fishing boats in the harbour. Lobsters at the pound are sold by the pound at market price. It serves as one of the largest lobster holding facilities in Canada with the ability to hold up to 29,500 kilograms (approximately 65,000 pounds) of lobsters. Hundreds of thousands of lobsters are packaged and shipped from Halls Harbour to all over North America, Europe and Asia every year.
