Gaspereau Valley

Gaspereau is a village about 3 kilometres (2 miles) south of Wolfville, Nova Scotia on the Gaspereau River. Commonly, Gaspereau refers to the entire Gaspereau Valley, about 15 kilometres (9 miles) long, which is a side valley of the Annapolis Valley. The name comes from the Gaspereau fish, Alosa Pseudoharengus, which migrates up the river every spring. Gaspereau is primarily a farming community, with dairy farms and apple orchards. In recent years many grape vineyards have been established and there is now a large winery in the village.
