The Newfoundland waterfront at Cape Spear is an important part of the city, and the natural and man-made history of the area is reflected in the city and the people. Located near St. Johns, Cape Spear National Historic Site is home to Newfoundland’s oldest lighthouse that still stands. The rugged coastline is shaped by furious waves crashing ashore during many of Newfoundland’s windy days.
