Along the St. John River

Grand Falls is an agricultural town, as well as a commercial and manufacturing centre. It is located on St. John River has the highest number of inhabitants that are billingual in Canada with 81.5% speaking English and French. It is also only one of two municipalities in Canada with an official bilingual name. The St. John River, which runs through Grand Falls, is approximately 673 kilometres (418 miles) long and drains an area of approximately 55,000 square kilometres (21,236 square miles), of which slightly more than half is located in New Brunswick. The St. John River is also the second longest river on North America’s Atlantic coastline.
