Victoria, located near the southeastern tip of Vancouver Island, overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, is surrounded on three-sides by water. There are numerous small, sandy beaches just outside the downtown core that can be enjoyed almost year round, as the climate is temperate, with daily temperatures rarely rising above 30°C (86°F) or falling below 0°C (32°F).
