The Docks

Victoria, with a population over 75,000, is the capital city of British Columbia. Located on the south-eastern tip of Vancouver Island, the Greater Victoria area is home to over 350,000 residents. Incorporated as a city in 1862, Victoria flourished as an economic centre in British Columbia, but with the completion of the Canadian Pacific Railroad, Vancouver’s economic influence in the area grow far beyond that of Victoria’s. Currently, with the temperate weather and beautiful setting overlooking the Juan de Fuca Strait, Victoria’s chief industries are tourism and government.
