Every summer Air Cadets selected from all over Canada come to the Pacific Regional Gliding School in Comox. They go through a six-week-long program and, by the end, come out with either their private glider license or their private pilot’s license. With a population of over 12,000, Comox is also home to Canadian air force base 19 Wing Comox, formally known as Canadian Forces Base Comox (CFB Comox).
