Garibaldi officially became a provincial park in 1927. It covers just under 2,000 square kilometres of an area east of the Sea-to-Sky Highway between Whistler and Squamish. Garibaldi Lake features a campsite along with rainbow trout fishing. While fishing generally starts later in July, a number of good spawning streams feed into the lake making stocking unnecessary.
