To the native people of the Sea to Sky Corridor this mountain was nq’il’qtens ku skenknap, “seat of thunder”, the mountain on which the legendary Thunder Bird lived. The rock was said to have been burnt black by lightning. Black Tusk features some great hiking and climbs as well as amazing scenery of the Garibaldi Provincial Park.
