Bighorn Sheep (Ovis canadensis) can frequently be seen in a herd at Wilcox Pass near the Icefields Centre in Jasper National Park. Members of the herds can sometimes be seen calmly browsing, relaxing, and even sleeping as hiking visitors pass. Wilcox Pass is the destination of Wilcox Pass Trail, a moderately easy 4.5 kilometre (2.8 mile) path with an elevation gain of 335 meters (1,099 feet).
