Welcome to Alberta

The welcome sign when coming from BC along the Trans Canada Highway sits right in the middle of two national parks: Banff National Park in Alberta and Yoho National Park in BC. Alberta is one of the best destinations in the world for year-round outdoor adventure. Yoho National Park is one of 41 national parks in Canada. Yoho represents the western slopes of the BC Rockies region and it is well known for its rock walls, spectacular waterfalls and high peaks. The name Yoho comes from a Cree word which means amazement. Yoho covers 1,313 kilometres² (507 miles²) and is the smallest of the four neighboring national parks. Yoho includes the power of ice, water, unique plant and animal communities that continue to progress today.
