One of the things that makes Calgary different from other larger cities in Canada is the lack of neon lighting throughout the downtown core. The absense of tacky, flashing lights, however, does not reflect a slow nightlife. Calgarians also enjoy recreational outside as they have established 40 Regional Parks and an endless list of local parks and playgrounds, probably because the city boasts 2,000 hours of sunshine per year, in Canada’s sunniest province, Alberta.
